What does the online General Spanish course cover?
Do you want to learn or improve your Spanish? Are you looking for a flexible online Spanish course? The Net Languages online Spanish course systematically covers all the aspects you need to learn and communicate effectively in Spanish including: reading, listening, writing and speaking, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and functional Spanish.
You will have access to a structured interactive course consisting of 10 units (complete level) or 5 units (half a level). You can decide to access the structured interactive course on its own or you can combine access to the course with a Spanish tutor to practise your speaking. You can also have a Spanish tutor give you feedback on your writing.
How do you improve your speaking in the General Spanish course?
If you sign up for a Premium version of the course, you are assigned your own personal Spanish tutor. You can book a speaking tutorial with your personal Spanish tutor in each unit of the course. Each speaking tutorial is a 25-minute conversation with your tutor. You can book the tutorial for the day and time you want using the calendar on the platform. If you want more speaking tutorials, you can buy additional tutorials when you sign up for the course.
During the tutorial you can practise using the language in the unit, you can talk about anything relevant to you and you can ask your tutor any questions you have. In this way, the Spanish language you study in the structured interactive exercises comes alive and relevant. You will notice a big improvement in your speaking in the speaking tutorials.
How do you improve your writing in the General Spanish course?
You practise your Spanish writing in interactive exercises on the platform and in freer writing practice activities. In the freer writing practice activities, you can get immediate feedback and corrections from our AI tutor, or, you can decide to have feedback from a Spanish tutor.
Each unit contains two Spanish writing tutorials. Each writing tutorial is an opportunity to put into practice the language you have studied in the interactive exercises in the unit. This progression from controlled to freer practice is an ideal way to improve your Spanish writing.
What level can you study?
You can study any level from the following levels on the Common European Framework:
A1: Pre-Elementary
A2: Elementary
B1: Lower Intermediate
B1+: Mid-Intermediate
B2: Upper Intermediate
All our levels are carefully mapped onto the Common European Framework. The levels are consecutive so when you have finished and passed a level, you can then sign up for the next level.

How many study hours do the levels include?
Each complete General Spanish level includes approximately 100 – 120 hours of study material. A complete level corresponds to access to 10 units. You can also decide to study half a level. Half a level includes between 50 and 60 hours of study material and corresponds to 5 units of the course.

How long will you have access to your course?
You get 12 months to complete a full level and 6 months to complete half a level of a General Spanish course. You can study as quickly or as slowly as you like within this time limit. And of course, you can access the course at any time of the day or night.
Will you get a certificate?
Yes, when you pass the course, you can download your personal certificate from the Net Languages platform. The certificate will include your name, the level you have studied, your final mark and a breakdown of your marks, the name of your tutor (tutored courses only), and the date.
